Finally, the good news is here! The Kedarnath Badrinath Temple Committee (KBTC) has officially announced the opening final date of the Chardham temples Kopat for 2026. Now pilgrims can start planning their yatra properly without any confusion or last-minute stress.
Every year during winter, heavy snowfall covers the entire region. Because of this, the temples remain closed for several months. Roads get blocked, trekking routes become unsafe, and the whole area is covered in snow. But when summer begins, the holy doors — known as Kopat or Kapaat — are opened again for devotees.
In 2026, that sacred moment will return once more. Lakhs of pilgrims will gather early in the morning to witness the first darshan when the temple doors reopen.
