  • July–August: The monsoon season means lush greenery, but it can also make travel difficult at times if roads are blocked by landslides. Extra caution is necessary if travelling during this period.
  • September–October Best time for the yatra. The weather is holding, mountain views are clear and pilgrim fervour is revving up to the highest gear.
  • Winter advisory: From November through April the area is snowed in and frigid and should not be travelled.
